Where Three Rivers Meet Practical Equipment

You save trips and guesswork when one store can handle your shop, your bins and your hearth. Channahon sits where the Des Plaines and Kankakee rivers join to form the Illinois River, with the DuPage River and the old I&M Canal winding through town, and that river-bottom humidity is hard on stored grain and harder on a drafty house in January. Midwest Agri-Com has served Will County families since 1975 from our Ottawa showroom on Route 71, a straight drive west on I-80. We carry welding supplies and equipment, grain handling and drying systems, fireplaces, and wood and pellet stoves. You can bring a broken hitch, a bin plan or a cold living room to us and leave with a clear answer and a free in-store estimate.

Our Service

Shop, Bin and Hearth Under One Roof

You can keep a farm running and a home comfortable with fewer suppliers to juggle. Our welding counter stocks torches, plasma cutters, welding wire, electrodes, filler rods, handles and fuel kits, and we sell and service welding machines so a broken gate or loader bucket does not stall your week. On the grain side, we design and install in-bin drying, unload systems, elevator legs, stirring machines and bin stairs for operations that need every bushel kept in condition. For the house, we offer fireplaces trimmed with wood mantels, cultured stone, brick or masonry, along with the tools and accessories that go with them. Stove shoppers can compare wood, gas, corn and pellet units in cast iron, steel and soapstone. Our crew handles design, installation, construction, repair, maintenance and restoration, so one call covers the job from first sketch to final inspection.

How do I keep stored grain from spoiling in humid river-valley weather?

You protect stored grain by drying it to a safe moisture level and running aeration fans to keep the whole bin at an even, cool temperature. In humid areas near rivers, check bins every week or two, watch for crusting on top, and use a stirring machine or in-bin drying system so moist pockets do not form.

Should I use a MIG welder or a stick welder for farm repairs?

Most older masonry chimneys need a properly sized stainless steel liner to vent a wood stove safely and draft correctly. A liner protects the brick from heat and acidic creosote, and it matches the flue size to the stove outlet. An inspection of your chimney before installation tells you exactly what your setup requires.
