Tools and Heat for Coal City
Keeping your shop stocked and your house warm should not mean chasing parts across three counties. Coal City grew up on mining, and that hands-on spirit still shows in the garages, fabrication shops and farms around town. Midwest Agri-Com supplies welding wire, electrodes, filler rods, torches and plasma cutters, and we sell and repair the machines that use them. Grundy County growers turn to us for grain drying and handling equipment, from in-bin drying to elevator legs. At home, we install fireplaces and sell stoves that burn wood, corn, pellets or gas in a range of finishes. Our Route 71 showroom in Ottawa lies northwest of you, close enough for a quick parts run or a sit-down consultation about a larger project.
Our Service
Shop Equipment and Farm Systems Done Right
A welder that quits mid-job or a grain leg that jams at harvest costs you time you cannot get back. Our welding equipment sales and service covers new machines, repairs and the consumables that keep you working, including handles, fuel kits and filler rods. We supply grain handling and drying equipment such as unload systems, stirring machines and bin stairs, and we handle installation, maintenance and repair. For heating, we design and install fireplaces using cultured stone, brick, masonry and wood mantels, and we sell steel, soapstone and cast iron stoves for wood and pellets. Coal City houses range from older mining-era homes to newer builds, so we look at your chimney, layout and insulation before recommending anything. Clear recommendations come first, and the work follows.

your questions answered
Find answers about our products and services.
Which welding rod should I use for repairing rusty farm implements?
Many farm repairs on dirty or rusty steel go well with a deep-penetrating electrode designed for less-than-clean surfaces. For cleaner metal and smoother beads, a different rod may suit better. Grind away as much rust as you can either way. Tell our counter staff what you are fixing and we will recommend electrodes and settings for the job.
Can a corn stove heat my whole house during an Illinois winter?
At minimum, inspect them before and after harvest, looking at belts, cups, bearings and flighting for wear. Heavy use or older systems may need checks during the season too. Catching a worn bearing early prevents a breakdown when trucks are lined up. Our team provides maintenance and repair on grain handling equipment to keep your system dependable.
How often should elevator legs and unload systems get serviced?
At minimum, inspect them before and after harvest, looking at belts, cups, bearings and flighting for wear. Heavy use or older systems may need checks during the season too. Catching a worn bearing early prevents a breakdown when trucks are lined up. Our team provides maintenance and repair on grain handling equipment to keep your system dependable.
