Sales and Services

Joliet Projects, Big and Small

A gas insert set into a drafty masonry fireplace in one of Joliet's older neighborhoods can turn a cold room into the warmest spot in the house. As the Will County seat, Joliet stretches along the Des Plaines River where I-80 and I-55 meet, with historic homes, newer subdivisions and Route 66 heritage all part of the city. Many customers here focus on fireplace sales and installation and on wood and pellet stoves, while contractors and hobby welders rely on welding supplies and equipment and service for their machines. Farms on the edge of Will County still count on grain handling and drying equipment as well. Midwest Agri-Com handles all five services with one experienced team. Our Ottawa showroom is a straight shot west on the interstate, and your first step is a free in-store estimate paired with practical advice.

Our Service

Hearth Design and Welding Support

Many Joliet homes have fireplaces that look great but heat poorly, so we spend a lot of time on upgrades and restorations. You can choose inserts and stoves that burn gas, wood, pellets or corn in steel, soapstone or cast iron, or update the look with a wood mantel, brick, masonry or cultured stone finish. Tools and accessories complete each hearth. Contractors and fabricators can stock up on welding wire, electrodes, filler rods, handles, fuel kits, torches and plasma cutters, and our service team keeps welding machines working. For farms in the outlying parts of the county, we design and repair grain systems, including in-bin drying, stirring machines, elevator legs, unload systems and bin stairs. Older city homes often need chimney work before a new appliance goes in, so inspection is part of our process. Design, installation, maintenance and repair are handled with care.

We provide competitive pricing on quality products, so you get dependable equipment without overpaying. Free in-store estimates give you straightforward numbers before you commit. Can a gas insert go into my existing masonry fireplace?

In most cases, yes. A gas insert fits inside the existing firebox and vents through a liner run up the chimney. The fireplace opening dimensions, chimney condition and gas line access all need to be checked. An inspection confirms the masonry is sound and the insert size matches your firebox and heating needs.

When does it make sense to repair a welding machine rather than replace it?

Many growers target around 15 percent moisture for corn held through winter and drop closer to 13 or 14 percent for storage into summer, when warmer temperatures raise spoilage risk. Grain quality, bin aeration and how long you plan to hold the crop all affect the right target. We help you plan drying around those goals.
